The length of jail time for killing a dog can vary depending on the circumstances and the laws of the jurisdiction. In general, penalties for animal cruelty including killing a dog can include fines, community service, probation, and imprisonment for up to several years, especially in cases of intentional harm or cruelty.
Abraham Lincoln said this in response to a young army officer who was in a sharp argument with a fellow soldier. Lincoln was trying to tell this officer to choose his battles..."Better give your path to a dog than be bitten by him in contesting the right." Winning an argument ("killing the dog") will not heal the wounds ("cure the bite") that it can cause.
Absolutely not. The instinct to kill a chicken is in every canine. It is up to you to teach the dog not to attack a chicken. Once the dog understands the chickens are "part of your pack" it may herd them but it will not kill them. There are no bad dogs just bad owners/ trainers.
In August Wilson's play, "The Piano Lesson" the yellow dog was a railroad car where many Black man were killed because of the theft of a piano. The Yellow dog railroad car was set on fire and the men died, but their ghost was said to have come back .and starting killing the people responsible. The ghost of the yellow dog, was throwing men down the wells.

Yes it sadly does
By killing it.
personally you aren't supposed to kill anything. however if you have a dog killing your livestock then you should call animal control instead of killing it.
Serious enough for it to be a felony for fighting dogs or owning a fighting dog.
I'm guessing you mean a Rhodesian Ridgeback? Yes, they are capable of killing any dog, but bear in mind, any dog is capable of killing another dog.
There is no "minimal punishment"; dog fighting in all states is a felony.
The offense is Larceny, either a felony or a misdemeanor depending on the value of the dog.
