I would be guessing seeing as most urine is not good for your health, that rabbit urine is just the same. I would be very worried about your mental health if you are contemplating whether to drink rabbit urine or not. Please, do not DRINK!

What do you do for a 10 week old Pygmy rabbit has blood in its' urine?

Is the bunny peeing somewhere unusual? Is she grunting/squeaking in pain when she pees? Is all the urine red or just a little bit? If you answer yes to those questions it would suggest the bunny has a urine infection. You need to take her to the vet ASAP! It is worth remembering however that of the bunny has had something with red colour in it, (Beetroot) etc. the urine produced can be a rather alarming red colour... A reddish rusty color to the urine could be normal if your bunny is not drinking enough water.

My bunny has a brownish discharge is that bad?

Yes, it is bad if your rabbit has a brownish discharge. If your rabbit has a brownish discharge, it is sick and you should bring it to the vet. See the related questions below for more info and links. A discharge of any colour, from anywhere on a rabbit's body, is a sign of illness, and the rabbit should see a vet with experience and training in rabbits. Normal, healthy feces are solid, brown balls. Normal urine is liquid (not at all thick) -- it could be clear or pale yellow, or it could be reddish, orangish, or dark brownish -- these are all healthy and normal. A thickish brownish discharge from the genitals could be something called "urine sludge," which is not healthy and, without treatment, could lead to serious problems.

Does rabbit urine attract snakes?

What color is guinea-pigs wee?

Normal rabbit urine can range from clear or very pale yellow, to bright orangey-red, to dark reddish-brown. Some rabbits are more prone to reddish urine than others. Reddish urine can be caused by a variety of factors, such as: - how much water the rabbit drank that day - the weather - antibiotics - something the rabbit ate (pigments in the food - e.g. carrots, spinach) Rabbit urine sometimes looks chalky, and it evaporates to leave a dry chalky residue. This is normal: it's how the rabbit gets rid of extra calcium in the body. But if the urine is pasty and thick and mustard-coloured, this is not normal: it's "urine sludge," and the rabbit needs to see a vet. Rabbits, like humans, have dark-coloured urine when they're dehydrated. If you think your rabbit is dehydrated, make sure it has a ready supply of clean, fresh, cool water. Some rabbits prefer a bottle over a bowl, or vice versa, so you might need to cater to their preferences just to keep them hydrated. Observe your rabbit for other signs of ill health and if you think your rabbit is sick, bring it to the vet. Red urine doesn't necessarily indicate blood in the urine. Often, when there's blood in the urine, you can't even see it. One way to make sure the urine isn't bloody is to have the rabbit pee on a white towel: if the colour is evenly distributed throughout the wetness, it's not blood; if the red is splotchy or gathered in one or two places, it could be blood - you should bring the rabbit to a vet to find out for sure.

What is calcium for a rabbit?

Rabbits need calcium in their diet just like the rest of us, but they don't need very much of it (especially grown adults). When rabbits have too much calcium in their bodies, they get rid of it in their urine. Sometimes, a rabbit's urine looks a little cloudy and/or leaves a white powder residue after its dried -- this is a normal way for rabbits to excrete their excess calcium. However, if the urine is thick, the consistency of toothpaste, and the colour of mustard (dark yellow), then your rabbit has "urine sludge" and needs to see a vet with experience and knowledge in how to treat rabbits. Urine sludge can lead to serious health complications. If you see your rabbit straining to urinate, and not urinating successfully, this can also be a sign of urine sludge, or bladder stones (another consequence of too much calcium in the rabbit's body), and the rabbit should see the vet. If a rabbit has problems with calcium, it might be related to a calcium-rich diet, or it may be genetic -- either way, the rabbit needs professional help. How can I effectively collect rabbit urine?

To effectively collect rabbit urine, you can use a clean container to catch the urine when the rabbit urinates. You can also try placing a special urine collection mat or tray in the rabbit's living area to make it easier to collect the urine. Make sure to clean the container regularly and store the urine in a cool place until you are ready to use it for testing or other purposes.

Is it bad if your rabbit has red feet?

Yes, it is bad if your rabbit has red feet. Consulting a vet is always the best answer since people online can not see your bunny. They might be red from sore hocks (irritated feet and heels, including bleeding). Or maybe the fur is stained red because the urine is red -- orangey-red urine is not necessarily bad, but if the urine is always that colour, and/or if the rabbit isn't cleaning its feet, that could indicate a problem. Maybe they're red because the wire in your cage is rusty -- that can lead to injury and isn't comfortable for the rabbit, so you should fix the rabbit's habitat. Maybe they're red because of a fungus of some kind. If your rabbit's feet are red, you must determine the cause and then fix the problem -- very likely, you need the help of a vet. See the related questions below for more information and links.
