The lines distinguishing one class from another are quite blurry these days. It would be fair to say, however, that it used to be middle classes were all professionals with university degrees Doctors, Lawyers, Architects, Scientists, Engineers, Teachers etc. and the working class were tradesmen, shopkeepers, factory workers and labourers.If in the eyes of some it still exists it is not about money. Some workers have such high demand skills that their take home money far exceeds that of some professionals.
