Recently the 'World's Largest Spider Ever Fossil" was debunked as being a crab. So as far as I know your best bet is a Camel spider. but... before you count that, Camel Spiders aren't technically spiders.

-The Camel Spider is also not as large as people think. Much larger is the Goliath Bird Eating Spider- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goliath_Bird_Eating_Spider actually the largest spiders are the huntsman spiders of south East Asia. With a larger leg span than the goliath spider of south america.

Just a short note to say that when the fossil of the Megarachne servinei was found in 1980, it was indeed considered by the paleontologists as the 'World's Largest Spider Ever", with a leg span of half a metre.

However, in 2005, a second more complete fossil was found in Argentina, and after comparative study with the holotype, paleontologist Dr. Paul Delden concluded that Megarachne servinei was not a spider, but was in fact a sea scorpion, an eurypterid from the Pennsylvanian epoch of the Carboniferous period.
