If the animal is furry & warm blooded, with 4 legs & a tail, I'd call it a Mammal (Mammals give Milk). If it has scales, like a Lizard or Alligator or a hard shell, like a Turtle, I'd classify them as Reptiles or reptilian. (Reptiles can be born alive and ready to go or like a Turtle or some snakes, lay eggs)
A snake is a small animal with legs that cannot walk. While some snake species have remnants of hind legs, they are not functional for walking. Snakes use their bodies to slither and move around instead of relying on legs for mobility.

A spider fits this description. Spiders have 8 legs, a cephalothorax and abdomen as their two body sections, and they do not have antennae.
An animal with legs might be called a biped or a quadruped. An animal without legs can move in a two-anchor movement or in a lateral undulation movement.
I don't think that any animal, as in mammal, have eight legs, but spiders do, though I don't think spiders are considered an animal, though I'm not an expert. The spider has eight legs and is considered an arachnid.
Well, no ANIMAL has eight legs but an arachnid called SPIDER does

All species of spiders have 8 legs. However, spiders are able to detach some of their legs to escape harm if they are attacked by another animal. This is why you will sometimes see a spider with less than 8 legs.
