Sometimes they will just run till they get into a spot where you cant reach them or they will turn on you and jump for you face. (Don't look at them directly in the eye they will think you are challenging them.) They might go for you neck also.

The horse is a prey animal and tries very hard to avoid run ins with predatory animals such as the wolf. While the wolf being a predator tries to hunt the horse for food and actively seeks them out. When they are together the horses will either flee and the predator will give chase or the horse will stand it's ground and drive off the wolf which may or may not runway.
