Some animals people use for transportation are horses and camels. Actually stuck on the same question myself. Hope I was of some assistance.
Elephants, dogs, ponies, Yak, Oxen, Mules, and Donkeys are the most common animals used for transportation.

Mostly what they call "pack animals", such as mules, burroughs (donkeys), horses and camels. Of course, elephants are great for that type of work too. It largely depends on where your are geographically as to what type of animal is available.
You can't just stack a bunch of stuff on their backs though. Think of putting the load together like a couple of large saddlebags, with straps and padding across their backs and hanging to either side. Load balancing is important too.

∙ 12y agoSo many different breeds of horses are used for so many different types of transportation. It all depends on what the breed's strong point is - for example, the thoroughbred is extremely fast for long distances, perfect for perhaps quick, long rides (or horse racing). Then there is the large Shire, muscular enough to pull heavy loads from place to place. The hackney horse is great for small pleasure drives in a buggy while the fellabella is not really suited for riding (since it is so small), however it is great for small, toddler wagon rides. Shetland ponies are just right for small children to ride, while large Tennessee walkers are wonderful for larger adults. The Hanoverian is beautiful for show jumping, dressage, or eventing with it's beautiful gracefullness. Quarter horses (Named for their extreme speed in a quarter mile) are quick and cow-smart for those long cattle drives across the American west, while appaloosas were busy pulling native American travoises several centuries ago. So you can see, that horses can be used to do just about everything, from transportation to sports to hard work. But it all comes from their personal specialties.
