A product produced in Australia to painlessly extract money from the wallets of the gullible. Their claim is that they filter nitrates from the water your dog is drinking (in which case a Brita filter would be a lot more cost effective). Urine (at least in people) is 2.5% urea by weight. The maximum concentration limit (MCL) for nitrate in drinking water is 0.0045%. So, if they work the way the manufacturer claims, they don't work. If they're doing something to your dogs metabolism, they're probably dangerous.

On the other hand, my dogs like to drink from mud puddles because they think the water is more tasty. So, I doubt whatever's in the rocks will hurt them.
