What are the advantages of a horse?

You go faster than on foot, you build a bond with an animal who eventually trusts you... and you feel better! When I'm having a bad day, my horse always cheers me up. I just tack up and gallop, it makes you feel better!!!!

horses are amazing animals. We ride horses because it is fun, relaxing and theraputic. It is also used for disabled and blind people, it can almost give that walking ability back to people who can't walk. I have had some very traumatic things that have happened in my life, if it wern't for horse riding i would never have got over what had happened. I know have my own horse but i don't just have a horse to ride it. I have a horse because it is my bestest freind. I bond with him, care for him and look after him aswell as ride him. When you ride a horse your borrowing freedom, always give or makesure that freedom is given back. You non horse riders give it a go. I never realised how much horse riding mean't to me up until i sat on a horse for the first time.

Well it really depends on where you live and what you would use a horse for. But in the long run, they are great companions, transport, and a whole lot of fun. You can find friends through horses if you do pony club, barrels, show jumping, cross country, etc.

If you have a dam, river, creek etc. and your horse likes water, then it is really fun on a hot summers day, to go for a swim on your horse.

If you are boarding it somewhere then you have the liberty to have less work load in taking care of it, and still get plenty of riding and grooming etc. in. Agistment/boarding however does cost a lot of money.
Horses are a lot of fun, especially when you have a deep bond.

In general, horseback riding is exercise, and I'm sure you know exercise is good for your health! Horseback riding strengthens your leg muscles very well.

Also, some people really love horses and horseback riding (me, for example). Some people say "Laughter is the best medicine," right? Its sort of in the same category. If you do what you like (horseback riding in this case), you might just have a health boost! ;)

I myself used to ride, and I don't know if I can really help much, but I'll try. The advantages in my opinion are you lose weight, it really gives you a workout. You improve your balance considerably. You feel free, especially when you gallop or canter :). And you learn a lot about Animals (especially horses obv lol)

The Disadvantages in my opinion are, blisters if you don't wear gloves. Ow!! Really hurts. Sore Bum lol. And painful muscles (this will get easier as time goes on, as with every workout :) )

Companionship, and they an get you around places, they do require a lot of work, though.
