I haven't heard of any dogs having an allergic reaction to it but when we used it on the dog, my son played with her for a while before he went to bed. The next morning he told us his face felt like it was burning and It hurt to blink. I took him to the doctor and he told us that the cold weather environment we live in (Northern Maine) triggers a chemical reaction with something in the stuff. The name of it slipped my mind but if you live were its cold then I wouldn't use the stuff and let your pooch outdoors. Good luck all I hope this was helpful.
