A duck has feathers (not fur) and it does have a tail.
No, Only mallards and domestic breeds derived from them.
does it have a curl on the top of the tail feathers? if so it is a male.
The easiest way to determine the gender of a duck is by the feathers, if you are dealing with a breed that displays sex-distinguishing colors. If there is no obvious difference in the feather colors, look at the tail feathers. In some breeds, the males' feathers curl up a bit at the base of the tails.
Male ducks have a curled feather on their tail while the females do not.
Ducks have a relatively thin skin covered with feathers. Since ducks are aquatic, they have preen glands with oil on the base of their tail; this oil is spread on the feathers to keep the duck dry while floating on the water.

If the tail has curled feathers, they are both male. As long as they aren't fighting, they can live together with no problem. It is rare for them to fight over anything. I have kept several males together with no problems at all.
Well, the male is like any other duck, it has curled tail feathers. As for the female , the ducks I own are mallard hens and a male and the females are brown witch means they are discolored, so maybe the female pekin duck is dicolored or they are white just without curled tail feathers. This is all I know but i hope it helped a bit.

If you have a Pekin Duck or any kind of duck....You can tell them apart by there sex feathers...There sex feathers are on there tail and a males tail feather curls a females doesnt...You can only see the sex feathers once there fully grown...

i don't know I'm bored working on a school project
A male duck is called a drake. A female duck is not called a drake (duck or hen)Drakes (male ducks) of most breeds have a 'drake feather' on top of their tale, a feather that looks like it has been curled with curling tongs... The markings of drakes are different than those of the ducks in most breeds.
When they are fully feathered, the male will have feathers that curl on his tail and the female doesnt. This is how you tell if they are male or female without handling them
