Dogs drag their rears across floors, carpeting, or ground for a number of reasons--primarily because the area itches and the scooting or dragging relieves the discomfort they feel. However, the cause of the itching must be identified. Most causes are treatable--and will stop the butt-dragging.

One primary cause of anal itchiness in domesticated animals (cats or dogs) is digestive worms. The eggs are expelled in the feces; even partial worms can break off when they have bowel movements. Treatment is simple with a shot or pills, or both. Animals with worms suffer because the worms are taking much of the nutrition from foods eaten. The dog can appear fat in the belly--but still be very hungry and demand more food. When the dog licks the anus, they swallow eggs, which go to the intestines, and make more worms! So treatment is important!

A second reason for butt-dragging in cats or dogs is anal gland infection or an impaction (blocked). There are two glands, one on each side of the anus / anal area. The vet can "massage" (press on in a particular way) to "express" the clog, e.g. to help unblock the glands. The pet may also need an antibiotic. As long as the anal glands cannot excrete the fluid as they are supposed to do, the inflammation will cause intense itchiness---sort of like when a human has a pimple or splinter that bothers you so you're always touching and pressing on it. Again, a quick vet appointment can identify this problem, and the pet will be more comfortable,

On shaggier long-haired pets, if fur has become matted near the anus, it can collect fecal matter that gets stuck in the fur. Both mats and fecal matter ITCHES like crazy! A vet can carefully shave the area without damaging anal, or hurting the vagina (females) or penis (males). Do not try to shave your own pet-- you can cause injury! After the area is shaved, the pet should be fine, and the fur will grow back.

Sometimes, dogs drag their butts because it is unclean. You should call your dog's vet just to make sure nothing is wrong..

Why would the brakes lock on a 1998 Dodge Ram work van?

Are you talking about the front or rear tires? If it's the front, and low traction conditions, then the van only has Rear-Wheel ABS. If it's the front, but dry ground, the pads are catching on the rotor. If it's the rear, but humid and only the first couple stops, it's rust on the brake surface If it's the rear, but constant, the shoes are dragging

Open your trunklid, and look down, you will see some carpeting, most likely held on with plastic clips, unfasten your clips, and pull the carpeting back, and you will see where your bulbs go in, now grab the bulbholder from the backside, turn to the left, and pull it out, and replace.
