A weeping wound is a sign of infection.

Arrange to get the dog to a veterinarian for antibiotics.

In the meantime you should attempt to wash out the wound with warm soapy water.

Cut back long hair if a long haired breed. Do not try to use human medicine on the dog, they react differently and some may kill it faster than the infection.

If the dog will allow, pour some Hydrogen Peroxide on the wound to help disinfect it, Note: it will bubble and turn white...This is a good sign.

To properly help this animal you will need to speak to a Vet ASAP.

What does it mean when a different dog grabs a dog round the neck?

It is a show of dominance. The alpha dog will "pin" the lower ranking dog by the neck to show the pack order. Typically it is done in play. If there is aggression then there is a possible fight for status in the pack order. If it gets too rough, you need to "dominate" the aggressor by pinning him/her with your hand holding the dog down by the shoulder and hind legs. DO NOT ATTEMPT WITHOUT PROPER TRAINING OR YOU COULD INJURE THE DOG.
