A NUMBER of things. It could be that the dog didnt have his vaccines, and was around other dogs that had illnesses. It could be that the dog rassled with a wild animal and got bit. No - no dog is hypo-allergenic, but some dogs have less dander than others, which is what causes the allergies. those dogs are poodles, bischon frise, and i think 2 others. you may want to go to akc.org to get more info
