I would guess green because they eat grass, which is green. Besides that, you have to do an experiment.
another person:I did the experiment and the birds ate the plain birdseed more than red, yellow, blue, and green (I only used five colors). My hypothesis was that they'd eat green more, though. Maybe they ate the plain one more because their used to eating that color of birdseed.
On the other hand: RED is a color that will attract [especially "hummingbirds" if you are living in a region that is populated with the beautiful little darlings, (which by the way, are the only bird species capable of flying in "every" direction - that includes straight up. extreme left and right, and straight down with no arcing movement!)
Most birds regardless of the goodies you are providing. Birds are simply attracted to that color.
So - if it is the birds themselves that you would like to see in all their splendor - paint your feeder RED, and be careful to use a NON-TOXIC paint, as they will trim their beaks on most anything. You might consider putting a cuttlebone (found at any pet supply - and cheap) inside the feeder. Trim in yellow, or anything bright. ENJOY.
Most birds eat all color seeds. The most common seed colors are: black, brown, darkish red, light brown, and white.
If you have a bird feeder, they will most likely eat the seed in the feeder. But if you don't , birds generally eat berries, seeds, nuts, and insects.catapillers
Yes, birds can eat, well, not chili (which is a Texan dish with beans, meat, and cumin), but Chile (which is a fruit). Birds do not have the receptors to taste the capsaicin like mammals do. Therefore, they just tast the fruit/seed, not the heat. Some bird seed companies will put some capsiacin in their bird seed mix, to keep out mammals, such as squirrels who are averse to the capsaicin.
yes and they love it just make sure it's general bird seed and doesn't have chemicals in it
Polly seed is a common nickname for sunflower seed. polly being a reference to a bird. sunflower seeds are commonly feed to birds thus giving them the nickname polly seeds.
Wild birds eat a number of different seeds. One of the most common seeds found in bird seed is sesame seeds. Birds love these seeds and they are popular with a number of species of birds.
the color of the seed doesnt affect how much the parakeet will eat

Not all birds eat seeds, but the ones that do eat it because it provides nourishment. (It is their food.)
It dependes. Different kinds of bird seeds have always been around but it is very hard to trace it back to the first bird seed because new seeds are being introduced to birds every day. Bird food/seeds did not all come as a varriety all at once.
First, there is not just one bird feeder. The words 'bird feeder' are used as a general term. The feeder, (as you will hear when you begin feeding birds more frequently), is used basically for putting food out for the birds. Different birds prefer different food. Do not misunderstand, more than one bird can eat one or more of the same thing. Generally it is seeds, of which you can mix several at a time. You have sunflower seeds, with or without the shell; Niger seed; peanuts; white millet seed; etc. Plus there are a few that you can make at home such as, hummingbird sugar water, suet and more. And there are many other foods that birds eat.
