Algae and pond scum.
In nature they eat mainly insects, and some plants/algae. You should feed them a standard tropical fish flake with fish/worm/insect as the main ingredient, and some sort of plant or vegetable. Avoid pellets, food for bottom feeders, and specialized foods. Roll large flakes in your fingers to break them up into bite sized pieces.
Try and feed them small amounts twice a day. If there is food left in on the bottom, or surface of the tank by the next feeding. You fed them too much. Note that they will survive without food if you take off for a 3 day weekend.
i hope it helped :) :D XX xx
Minnows in the wild primarily eat mosquitoes. When feeding a pet or captive minnow, blood worms are a favorite for these fish.

Minnows eat lots of things depending on the type of minnow. If you have a minnow you can safely give it any store bought fish food like goldfish food. We use minnows in our rain barrels around the farm to eat mosquito larva and algie. We also drop goldfish food in twice per week to keep them well fed. In the fall we let them go where we caught them in the spring and they are often much bigger than their wild cousins. You can also catch house flies and small insects to feed them.
A wide variety of predators eat the spottail shiner, which is a type of minnow. The walleye, rainbow trout and northern pike are examples.
Well, it really depends on what kind of fish it is. if it's something like a bass, then it'll probably eat whatever bug or or small fish ( such as a minnow) comes it's way. If it's a goldfish... no
When owning a fish it is important to know what they eat. A minnow will eat fish food flakes that are made for it to eat. Make sure the fish flakes are meant for minnow.
