An earwig is a reddish-brown to black colored bug between 6 and 35 mm long, somewhat flattened in shape with 2 (harmless) pincers coming off its back end. They are attracted to dampness, like piles of leaves, etc. They can also be found indoors where there may be dampness, like in basements. They are ugly, somewhat unnerving to see crawling around you but are harmless to humans.
Ear wicks are small, soft, cone-shaped devices that are inserted into the ear canal to help remove excess earwax. They are typically made of cotton or a similar material and are designed to be gentle on the ear.
A brown bug with two antennae on each end sounds like it could be an earwig. There are approximately 2,000 species of earwig.
Pinchers in the back sounds like an earwig.
An Earwig!!
It IS a bee... a carpenter bee. They make nests in wood by chewing tunnels. If you see a lot of them, you should be concerned that they are nesting in your house or garage. The ones you will see most frequently are males, and they cannot sting. The females can sting, but almost never do. However, carpenter bees CAN bite.
They are small black dots that are in clusters
Earwigs can not pierce the skin of dogs, cats, or humans and are not harmful. It can however, be quite surprising when an earwig crawls across your kitchen counter!
