They are actually maneless male Tsavo lions. The males of this region often have suppressed manes if any at all. It is due to the difference in climate that this happens. The typical male serengeti lion has the typical bushy mane while those in the much drier Tsavo region have developed an evolutionary trait to conserve water due to their habitat.
There have been recorded instances of male lions, including Tsavo lions, killing cubs that are not their own in order to bring the females back into estrus. However, it is not common for lions of any subspecies to eat their own cubs for food.
Many animals can completely devour human. Lions are know to attack humans, and there have been many sightings of lions completely devouring people. This is the Tsavo man-eating lion. It can completely devour a human and mainly hunts humans. Tigers are the biggest cats, and if we lived among them, they would be a top predator. Crocodiles and hippopotamuses chase away and even eat humans. They are determined mothers who protect their nest and kill anyone or anything that comes near it. Of course, none of these animals eat humans as part of their natural diets, but they are still a threat to humans.
