The dachshund is a short-legged, elongated dog breed of the hound family. Pronounced däks' hoont, the breed's name is German and literally means "badger dog", from [der] Dachs, badger, and [der] Hund, dog. While classified as a hound in English speaking countries, some consider the classification to be in error, speculating that it arose from the fact that the German word hund is similar to the English word hound. In fact many dachshunds, especially the wire haired sub type, exhibit behavior and appearance that is far more similar to the terrier group of dogs
A long haired hamster, also known as a syrian hamster, can grow up to 5-6 inches. Even though they have longer and messier coats types than a short haired hamster, a long haired hamster does not grow bigger in size than a short haired. Long haired hamsters reach their full size a within a year after birth.

No. Absolutely not. In what way? We actually have an English Setter Basset Hound mixed breed and she is fantastic and ADORABLE! She's white with black and brown "ticking" like a setter with short legs and a long body- but not quite as stout as a basset. She's very friendly and has a great temperament, just needs a lot of exercise. You can see photos here: http://picasaweb.google.com/monette.anderson/EnglishSetterBassetHoundMixEnglishBasseterHound?feat=directlink We also have a English Setter Basset Hound mixed breed and she's wonderful. She's 7months healthy and beautiful. She is strong willed and requires alot of activity (long walks, outdoor play). She is great with people including children.
The word "no" in German is pronounced as "nein." It is pronounced as "nine" in English, but in German, the "e" is pronounced as a short sound closer to "eh."
Gottlieb is a German name. In German, it is pronounced GOT-leep, except that the German short "o" is somewhere in between English short "o" of "got" and long "o" of "goat." When the name is pronounced in English context, it is likely to have the "b" sound at the end instead of the "p."
