Sun light and man made light have two very different effects on ants.
Sunlight is natural and has nothing but good effects on ants.
If you put an ultra violet light down on an ant of course they would shrivel and die.
Thats like putting a human on the sun.
However sometimes sunlight does have effects on insects like when you see a worm dried up on the sidewalk. An ant can move faster to get out of very heated areas like a sidewalk on a hot day, however a worm can not!
However ants usually like shade and are most commonly found under rocks, dirt and grassy moist areas!
Hope this helps :)
Pyrethrum is produced from the herb feverfew. Pyrethrum does kill ants and other insects by producing a toxic effect when it reaches the insects nervous system.
Ants prefer darkness over light. They are more active during the night and tend to avoid well-lit areas during the day. This behavior is believed to be a way for them to protect themselves from predators and extreme temperatures.
It should not effect any reptiles.
Ants defecate and urinate. In ants, the main component of urine is whitish crystals of uric acid. Usually the urine and feces are excreted together as light brown droplets in special chambers of their nest.
Ants do not have eyes in the traditional sense. They have compound eyes made up of many small lenses that allow them to detect light and movement. The color of an ant's eyes is usually black or dark brown.

Flying ants are attracted to light. I've tried this method before at home. Seeing flying ants fly underneath your white light? Try this! Pour some water (any temperature) into a dish. Place the dish underneath your white light. Because the water reflects the light, the stupid flying ants will fly down, thinking that it's another white light. I'd suggest to take another white light and put it near the dish of water, off the light installed on the ceiling of your wall and enjoy the violence...
Zero. Ants can't screw in light bulbs. as many as you think it takes. _____________________________________________________________________ Just 2, its getting in there that's the hard part
They can. Some ants engage in symbiotic relationships with some plants on occasion. For the common ant and your average garden flower, ants should not have a positive or negative effect.
