The fibers that typically make up Mohair are the silk-like hairs that come from the Angora goat. Mohair fibers are approximately 25-45 microns in diameter. Mohair fibers are durable and resistant, as well as incredibly soft and luxurious to touch.
Felt can be made from nearly any animal since it is a nonwoven fabric made from hair fibers, but most often it is made from sheeps wool, and more recently alpaca. The sheep aren't killed in the process just given a "haircut" and sent on their way. The wool is washed, carded and felted. There are also synthetic felts which are made from plastics and a new bamboo felt made from a combination of bamboo and wool. Hope this helps Andie- American Felt and Craft

Recycled cotton and linen is so expensive that these fibers are only used in specialized applications like making dollar bills.
I think that it depends on the length of the cotton fibers. Cheaper cotton shirts are usually made with shorter cotton fibers. How they are woven is also a factor. I am having a terrible time with cotton shirts itching me - even after a dozen or more washes. However I have some Tori Richards shirts from Honolulu made with cotton lawn that feel like silk and are totally fine. I have started to find that even 60 cotton / 40 rayon blend itch. Help
