a planaria worm will grow back in to two separate worms
What it says below is not true kind of. Today I cut a worm in half, at first I thought I killed it but then I noticed The tail side started moving around. You know a cats tail well it was moving like that but really fast around the ground. The head side just took off like a normal worm through the grass. I took both sides of the worm home and noticed after 3 or 4 hours that the head part grew its tail back and it was now just a short wimpy worm. The tail part did not grow back though, it simpley died after 3-4 hours. So now you know that if you cut a worm in half it will not make 2 worms just simpley heals it self after hours and the other half stops moving... :)
The worm dies a very painful death. It is pure myth that it creates two worms as if you take a time to look up what makes a worm you will see it does indeed have a top and a bottom, so to speak. So, don't rush out and think if i cut this worm in half he will have a little friend to hang out with....coz he wont! :)
you see it guts...........
It would divide into two planaria.
It doesn't. It dies.
Describe the cut that is to be made to the worm, what instruments is to be used
Annelid worms cannot be cut and half and live. Other types of worms can be respawned in their entirety if a sufficient portion of their original body was retained.
Sexually. Earthworms are bisexual, or hermaphroditic, which means that each individual has both male and female sex organs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first answer is not completely right. Earthworms have babies asexually and sexually, becasue sexually they can mate with another worm, and asexually because a worm can have it by itself ans the baby worm will have the exactly same DNA. Worms also have babies asexually because if you cut a worm in half it goes through regeneration and fragementation and that piece becomes a different worm and the other piece regrows. <--That is incorrect: Worms do not regrow into two worms when cut in half. The part that contains the upper half of the body will regrow the parts that it has lost, while the lower part (that doesn't contain the brain) will just wiggle around because of the ganglia that are still intact.
... It dies
If you cut a worm in half, the half with the head on it, the tail will grow back. It will NOT become two worms!!!
regeneration
Yes it will
it would continue to live because worms have 4 hearts. :) But if you cut a worm in half and it doesent keep moving its because that's really just half of a worm that someone already cut in half
no you will not get 2 earth worms only the top half of the worm will live if you cut it in half because it's tail will rejenorate while the head on the other half of the worm can not.
i believe it is the Planaria Worm.
cut it in half
yeah
It doesn't. It dies.
it probably has a parasite
IF you cut a worm in half, the bottom half will die because it cannot grow a new head. However, the top half will live and heal.
Yes it is and another fact is if you cut a worm in half it grows back again.
