The animal originated in Hokuriki Japan and is considered one of the Native Japanese Dog Breeds. It was first brought to America by Helen Keller.

Yes they are
Author Rumiko Takahashi stated in an interview that Inuyasha is an akita inu.
The American Akita is a separate breed from the Japanese Akita Inu and is recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC). It originated in the United States by crossing the Japanese Akita Inu with various other breeds like Mastiffs and Great Danes. This has resulted in a larger, more robust dog compared to the Japanese Akita Inu.
The Akita Inu came from Japan just like the Shiba Inu.
There are many Akita Inus in the United States, but they are mostly in the colder states.
No they are not, you can tell because the Akita tend to grow much bigger that the shiba inu. They are related to one another, but they are different.
best dog is the japanese akita because it is purebred and really protective. The american akita is also protective buy it is not purebred and looks a little like a bulldog so I prefer an akita inu

First of all, a Shiba Inu dog is Japanese. A Jin Do dog is THE MOST intelligent dog of all of Korea and is highly, VERY highly respected and honored in Korea and is the most expensive dog in the whole country. Shiba Inus are way smaller than Jin Dos and Jin Dos need more excercise. Jin Dos are GENERALLY more smarter than shibas (not meaning that shibas aren't smart, they are). Also, Jin Dos are highly loyal to their owners and they will refuse to listen to anyone but their owner. If you try to give away a Jin do, he will refuse to listen to the new owner. Jin Dos are more wolfish while Shibas look less wild and wolfish.
