I've read alot of books about rats. Any bedding that is dusty can or most likely will give your rat respitory problems. (Lung, Breathing...) Never use pine or cedar bedding because it's dusty. You can use a brand of bedding called Yesterday's News, Crushed Chest Nuts, Aspen Shavings and rabit food pellets. All of these are great for your pet rat. Also never give your rat newspaper because the ink is toxic. Bye!!!!!
Never give your rat saw dust. It will cause respitaroy problems.
I give my rats old clothes that don't fit me anymore and rip them up. I change it once a week by laundry, and the best part is is that you don't have to separate it by light or dark.
that depends, you should talk to the breeder and ask what kind of bedding they used, the puppy will be most used to that bedding. Also if your puppy has a special condition, talk to the vet.
You have a duck?? That's pretty awesome but even a cardboard box would work. It needs some absorbent bedding such as ; straw or hay. Never use mouldy bedding as it can harm your ducklings =)
The best bedding to use is wood shavings. If the pine is in shaving form then yes, youcan. Never use newspaper as bedding. The ink can be toxic to little pets.
No. Rats are naturally pack animals and fret when left alone. Domestic rats are best kept in groups of two or more of the same sex.
In planer bedding Surfaces are without cross lines, but cross-bedding is inclined.
no,rats need bedding that they can burrow into
bedding of any sort except for pine. Newspapers will work too, but I find bedding is more comfortable especially for older rats, and also better quality
Mice and Rats dont eat shoes they use it for bedding! and jade cotton
because the coloring of it might be toxic
Usually , cloth is the best choice for kids bedding.
Yes - any non-aquatic animals' bedding should be dry, unless pet care guides indicate that it should be damp. For a rat's bedding to be wet it indicates that the rat(s) have urinated in the bedding, in which case it needs to be changed and the cage cleaned.
If you are talking about pet rats, they are prone to many diseases. Pneumonia is the number one killer in rats. They can catch it from humans but we can't from them. Usually they get it from improper cage cleaning and/or ventilation (some think a glass tank is a good enclosure and it is the worse since there is no air flow). Also the type of bedding used is a cause of pneumonia as well. Aspen smells great, but that is the problem. The best bedding to use is recycled paper. The other killers are tumors(Cancerous and non cancerous), And cancer
The best alternative to down bedding depends upon personal opinion. Some alternatives to down bedding are wool and synthetic comforters.
Not at all. They smell like their bedding material and a littly musky.
If it is very cold then, no. If it is cold in your area, try giving your rats more bedding and keep them in the warmest room in your house. Pet rats are very susceptible to becoming too hot or too cold.
Milk Actually they are allergic to avocado and rhubarb!
Disney bedding has very good saftey ratings.
