Pime bedding is really the best you can get. You can get it at your local feed store.
pine bedding and cedar should not be used for guinea pig bedding because the oils can irratate them and cause respiratory problems which can be serious. I reccomend asphen for your pet guinea pig.The best bedding is hay wood bedding solf cotton bedding

∙ 12y agoWell, that's every ones opinion BUT to me I've tried a few different types and found that the best one with Oder control and my little piggy LOVES it is pine bedding. It is good for your pet AND good for the world. I highly suggest pine bedding you can find it in the pet section at your local Walmart. I'm sure that your guinea pig will love it to because it's safe and easy to use!

You can not use straw because it is to sharp for the guinea pigs.

∙ 15y agoI like to use recycled paper products like Carefresh. Aspen shavings are good, but avoid cedar shavings. They have aromatic oils that can be harmful when they are inhaled.

∙ 11y agoYou can use any bedding that is not Cedar or Pine chips. There's not really an ideal bedding, though I like to use Carefresh.

Use it as their bedding, but there's nothing to stop them eating it if they want.
The best bedding to use is wood shavings. If the pine is in shaving form then yes, youcan. Never use newspaper as bedding. The ink can be toxic to little pets.
I don't think it would be a good idea. Use pine bedding from the pet store. If you use carpet they will probably bite it and strangle. I have had two guinea pigs before
Yes as long as you clean it regularly and wash it at least once a week. The best thing to use is fleece though, its warm and the guinea pigs love it! - Guinea pig owner -
if its beding is hay then yes it normal for any g-pig to eat hay But you should NOT use hay for bedding. Hay is to eat, you should use either aspen (NOT pine) or recycled paper bedding that you buy at the pet store. Improved: Actually, it is normal for guinea pigs to eat their bedding. I know that it is gross, but guinea pigs are supposed to eat their droppings because it gives them necessary nutrients that they don't have time to absorb the first time it goes through their bodies. Recycled paper bedding at the pet store is the best, and the best kind of hay is the KAYTEE brand Timothy hay. Hope that this helps!

Yes use pine bedding NOT sawdust it is very bad for there lungs if you need any advice on guinea pigs contact a guinea pig rescue not a pet store

You should not use cat litter, pine shavings, or cedar shavings. It would be better and healthier to get a guinea pig a different bedding.

I would have to say fleece is better. It cuts down on the dust for guinea pigs, the bedding does not get stuck in their fur, it is easy on their feet, and the top always stays dry. Note: Do not use regular detergent to wash fleece. Use vinegar and a gentle, scent free detergent (like oxy clean or tide free). Also, fleece is more effective if your guinea pigs' cage is large and there are not many guinea pigs (1-3 guinea pigs). MAKE SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING OFF THE FLEECE BEFORE YOU WASH. Your guinea pigs will be as happy as ever with fleece.
NO! That is cruel and guinea pigs will get fungal infections and there coat will get yuck! You should use a different bedding because the bedding you use is not absobent.

Use hay! Usually timothy hay is the best kind!Along with timothy hay another good bedding source is Kiln dried Pine Shavings. BEside being a comfortable way to sleep, it is cheeper than most bedding and guinea pigs don't need to eat it so unlike timothy hay they never have to worry about eating their pee or poo. Because that would be very nasty. Don't ever use Cedar Bedding thought it is bad for guinea pigs and can KILL them :( The cedar bedding is bad because the strong smell can cause respiratory problems.Guinea pigs can also be kept on wood shavings (not sawdust!) and many companies also sell large bales of shredded cardboard which makes excellent piggy bedding (this is often sold for horses who are allergic to wood shavings and is usually available mail-order)
You shake off the poo outside and toss it in the washing machine. Make sure to use scent-free soap.
