there is carbon dioxide in the air, witch leads to the green house affect. trees suck in the carbon dioxide and turn it into oxygen do we could breath. if we cut down trees, the green house affect would get even worst, and we would have less oxygen to help us breath.

What are the effects of illegal logging to animals?

The harvesting procedure itself may be illegal, including using corrupt means to gain access to forests; extraction without permission or from a protected area; the cutting of protected species; or the extraction of timber in excess of agreed limits. Illegal logging is the harvest, transportation, purchase or sale of timber in violation of laws.

What are some pros and cons of cows treated with growth hormones?

Cows treated with growth hormone reach market weight faster, which is an advantage for the farmer. A con is that these hormones stay in the meat and are passed on to humans through consumption of the meat.

Investigatory project about animals and plants?

You can feed 2 different plants or animals with different things. In plants, one can be given normal water while another will be given a human growth supplement. In animals, you can feed the animal with normal food and the other with enhanced food.

What is a Eco warrior?

An eco warrior is a person who is dedicated to promoting and fighting for environmental causes and sustainability. This can involve activities such as advocating for conservation, participating in environmental protests, and taking steps to reduce their own environmental impact.

How many penguins die everyday?

The number of penguins that die each day can vary depending on factors such as species, location, and environmental conditions. Overall, penguin mortality rates are influenced by factors like predation, disease, environmental changes, and human impact on their habitats.

What effect have environmental regulations had on the logging industry according to Keye?

According to Keye, environmental regulations have placed restrictions on logging practices to protect ecosystems and wildlife habitats. These regulations aim to promote sustainable forestry practices and reduce environmental impact, which can sometimes lead to increased costs and operational challenges for the logging industry.

Why Selective logging is good?

Selective logging is beneficial because it minimizes environmental impact by allowing for the preservation of the surrounding ecosystem and maintaining biodiversity. By removing only specific trees, it promotes healthier forest growth and regeneration, reducing soil erosion and protecting water quality. This approach also supports sustainable forestry practices, providing economic benefits to local communities while ensuring that forest resources are available for future generations. Overall, selective logging strikes a balance between resource extraction and environmental conservation.

What is a logging ban?

A logging ban is a regulatory measure that prohibits or restricts the harvesting of trees and timber from forests to protect ecosystems, biodiversity, and natural resources. Such bans may be implemented in response to concerns about deforestation, climate change, and the impact of logging on wildlife habitats. Logging bans can vary in scope, covering specific regions, types of trees, or methods of logging, and are often part of broader conservation efforts.

What is your suggestion about illegal logging?

To combat illegal logging, it's crucial to strengthen enforcement of existing laws and increase penalties for offenders. Additionally, promoting sustainable forestry practices and supporting community-based management can help protect forests while providing economic alternatives to local populations. Raising public awareness about the environmental impact of illegal logging can also foster greater consumer responsibility and demand for legally sourced timber products. Collaboration between governments, NGOs, and the private sector is essential for effective solutions.

Why are forests considered a renewable source of construction materials?

Forests are considered a renewable source of construction materials because they can regenerate naturally over time through processes like replanting and natural growth. Sustainable forestry practices ensure that trees are harvested at a rate that allows the ecosystem to recover, maintaining the balance of the forest. Additionally, advancements in forestry management, such as selective logging and agroforestry, help minimize environmental impact while providing a continuous supply of wood and other materials. This renewable aspect supports both economic needs and ecological health.

Changing area under forests and its impact on environment?

Clearing forests for agriculture, urban development, or logging decreases the area under forests, leading to loss of biodiversity, disruption of ecosystems, and increased greenhouse gas emissions. This can result in soil erosion, water pollution, and habitat loss for many species, ultimately impacting the stability of the environment and contributing to climate change. Efforts to protect and restore forests are crucial to mitigate these negative impacts and promote environmental sustainability.

What human actions threaten the existence of forests?

Human actions that threaten the existence of forests include deforestation for agriculture, logging, mining, and urban development. Pollution, wildfires, and invasive species can also negatively impact forests and their ecosystems. Climate change is a significant threat to forests as it leads to more frequent and severe droughts, fires, and pest outbreaks.

How do experiments on plants growth contribute to our understanding of plant development and environmental factors affecting their growth?

Experiments on plant growth help us understand how plants develop and how environmental factors impact their growth. By studying how plants respond to different conditions, we can learn how to optimize their growth and improve crop yields.

What is the permanent distruction of indigenous forests?

Permanent destruction of indigenous forests refers to the irreversible loss of native forest ecosystems due to activities such as logging, agriculture, urban development, and mining. This destruction leads to the degradation of biodiversity, loss of habitat for countless species, and significant alterations to local climate and water cycles. The impact extends to indigenous communities that rely on these forests for their livelihoods, culture, and identity. Once lost, these ecosystems cannot be restored to their original state, resulting in long-term environmental and social consequences.
