That is called a show horse.
Most likely a short name for a horse that's plug-ugly.
Sgt. Preston's horse was named Rex, played by himself, on the show.

Tommy Wade
Unknown. But, there are 2 answers to this question. First, his name was never revealed in the television show, The Virginian. Second, the book The Virginian (upon which the television show was based, but not necessarily the same character) was the introduction of the Virginian. In the book, by Owen Wister, his name was never revealed.
Hoss's horse was named Chub. Little Joe's horse's name is Cochise. Ben's horse is Buck, Adam's horse is unofficially called Sport.
In the nine years of the television show...they never refer to him as anything other than The Virginian.
TopperWilliam Boyd played Hopalong Cassidy. His white horse on the show was named "Topper". He had a black horse in his comic books named "Midnite".The white horse's name was "Topper" .
This is the show horse. Win, place and show.
That depends on which movie, book or TV show you are referring to. "The horse" doesn't tell us a whole lot nor helps us answer the question.
Jimmy the Horse!
So hot I sizzle
The horse's 'stable name' (Munro) doesnt have to be related whatsoever to the show name! For example, I know a horse called 'Ease on Fire' whose stable name was Hamish and our foal is called Apple at home but his show name is 'Lunar Wind'! Some people like to relate the name to the show name (eg. Daisy became Driving Miss Daisy) , but it really can be anything you want :)
The Virginian - 1962 Show Me a Hero 4-9 was released on: USA: 17 November 1965
