I have always given my hamsters Chinchilla sand.
NO, hamsters in the wild have never been known to install showers in their homes. On the serious side however. Hamsters are generally able to keep themselves clean and groomed and need only be washed in emergencies when they get particularly dirty or are in need of treatment for mites or something like that.
None. Do not put powder on your hamster. They are not a powder puff.
This is easy to do. All the animal needs is sand. You can buy clean sand at a local hardware store. Place it in a large bowl for the animal to use.
The pennine packed wood flakes are okay to use with the hamsters.
Yes, you can get a dust/sand bath for your hamster. Whatever you do, don't put it under water. It can get easily sick and cold. You can only clean it in water in case of a emergency. A dust bath may cause respiratory problems, and most hamsters don't even roll in it. It is better to get sand because it is safer. Chinchilla sand is good, too. Just sprinkle the dust/sand over the hamster is it doesn't roll in it itself. Try to get as much sand/dust off as you can before letting your hamster run through the cage by stroking it.
Hamsters are indigenous to the desert were they burrow and bathe in the sand. domesticated hamsters (such as pets) use wood shavings to substitute the sand as a burrow. Many pet stores carry sterile sand that is used to bathe the hamsters but many hamster owners such as my self just give their pet a bath in the tub with a little water. I Hope this Answers Your Question.
Umm...... I would advise you not to use gravel. They will bite on it or injure themselves. Stick to wwod shaving or put abox of clean sand in their box. They really love this..........hope it helps
sandy sand
Sand paper
What kind of pipe, the inside or outside, or a tobacco pipe? If it is copper pipe, you can use an emery sand cloth or steel wool.
Sugest you use one of the cleaners that are made to do this job available from the pool shop.
to clean off brakes you can use brake clean fr your local automotive store or you can use a fine sand paper all depends on what is on them
Use calcium carbonate or calcite based sand; usually called 'aragonite' sand. Do not use play sand (ie, silica sand) or normal sand, it will cause massive diatom blooms.
yes, you can but you have to use sand paper dont scrub to hard and use some laundry soap and that will do.
It is best to use a fairly clean sand, like washed river sand shy away from a loamy sand as used by bricklayers.
Use baking soda and cotton swabs. If really bad you may use sand paper to clean connections.
Bedding is better otherwise the sad will get in their eyes. Sand should only be used in a sand bath so they can clean themselves.
