I hope you like shell fish! I suggest you first bring some oxygen, as Nigel Marvin advised me that the air in this period is a bit thin, like Everest. Alternatively, you could move to Nepal and try to adapt to that climate over a series of months before going to help acclimate to the low-Oxygen environment of the Ordovician.
Next, you need to get over your disgust of eating "bugs" as you're probably going to be stewing a lot of Trilobites and Sea Scorpions there. If you want to know what that tastes like, go back to a time before the horseshoe crab was endangered and fry one up and tell me because I have no idea since I'm a vegetarian at the moment.
But if you want big game, you need to get your harpoon and net some of those massive Orthocones. Batter and sauté and it should be just like eating Calamari!
