Martha Stewart owns 7 Himalayans. She started with Persians but she decided that their coats were too high maintenance so she switched over to Himalayans. Himalayans are a cross between a Persian cat and a Siamese cat. The luxurious long hair, flat faces, sweet disposition and tiny voice are all Persian characteristics while the color points are Siamese characteristics. Martha owns several different colors of Himalayans some of which are Seal point, Blue Lynx point, Chocolate Lynx point, and Seal Lynx point. She recently rescued two adult Himalayans from a nearby animal shelter. What a great lady!
Chocolate is a regional name used by racing pigeon breeders for a recessive opal pigeon. All racing pigeons can live up to about 12-15 years with a rare number of them living to about 20. And even though you didn't specifically ask this, recessive opal is a non-sexlinked (autosomal) recessive.
It will be living until it dies.
