Well the dog has the strongest grip or the strongest man on earth if there is one. The animal that has the strongest grip is a Cane Corso Mastiff. Or any other type of mastiff.
Wolf spiders and praying mantises eat each other. If one is bigger than the other, and is hungry, the larger of the two will likely eat the smaller. If they are both about the same size, it depends who sees who first, and who is hungrier. In the northeast U.S., large wolf spiders and large Chinese mantises compete for food all the time, and only the adult female Chinese mantises can overpower and eat adult wolf spiders. Usually the mantis can avoid being bitten by using the dexterity of it's forelegs to re-position it in such a way that the spider's fangs cannot reach any part of the mantis. The mantis then slowly will eat the spider alive. But if the spider is on the hunt, and sneaks up behind a mantis that is not paying attention, one quick bite would probably be enough to subdue the mantis. This has been studied extensively in northeast U.S. meadows, where both large wolf spiders and large praying mantises live. Look at the book "The Praying Mantids" by Dr. Frederick Prete. It's very technical, but the info is there. It's a bug-eat-bug world out there.
comma.
Usually, The European mantis is common, but it could be a different one. The Chinese praying mantis is common in east TN. This is the large green/tan mantis. The Carolina praying mantis is also found in east Tn. It is much smaller and more aggressive, usually with a more brown cast to it, with lesser claws than the Chinese.
The praying mantis does have claw-like legs. The praying mantis is known as one of the highest formidable predators in the animal kingdom. The claws are not actual referred to as claws but as raptorial legs.

It depends, generally, a praying mantis would be stronger, but ants are creatures that live in mass quantity. If you want straight facts, a praying mantis is stronger, if you care more about a real scenario, where there would probably be one praying mantis, and thousands of ants, ants would be stronger. Also to add to this point, ants carry up to 4 times their weight.
