Any dog can be child friendly if you train it properly. But I would say the golden retriever or the labrador retriever.

No, but yellow Labrador retrievers would have the same type of coat as a black Labrador retriever. However, a golden retriever would have an undercoat in addition to its regular coat. --- Labradors have double layered coats as well. First is a fluffy undercoat that keeps them warm, the second is a slick, oily coat that makes them slightly water resistant.
I think it would be the Labrador Retriever.

Labs are omnivores. (can eat meat, fruits, and vegetables)
Perhaps the breed that most resembles the Labrador Retriever is the Golden Retriever, both sharing a similar appearance and personality. However, these two breeds are actually distant descendants. The Labrador Retriever is bred down from the now-extinct Lesser St. John's Dog, while the Golden Retriever is the result of a cross of the Flat-coated Retriever and the now-extinct Tweed Water Spaniel, mixed with other breeds in its ancestry such as the Irish Setter and the Bloodhound. Some other breeds that look like the Labrador Retriever are the Flat-coated Retriever, Curly-coated Retriever and Chesapeake Bay Retriever. However, the Lab's closest relative is the Newfoundland. Although now having a very different size, they both probably descended from St. John's Dog.
Labrador, Golden Retriever, Border Collies, and any small dogs

For me, it would be a Labrador or a Golden Retriever but it all depends on the behavior/features you want.
That all depends on the age, size and temperament of either dog. Typically, a dog with a more nervous energy is one that is more prone to losing than one that is more dominant, because in the dog world, such energy is weak energy, no matter what size or age either dog is.
Yes there is such a thing as big and small Labrador Retrievers. Want to know why? Because there are a lot of folks who do not know what a 'Breed Standard' is. There are also folks who would breed their Labrador Retriever to another Labrador Retriever when they also do not know what a breed standard is, nor do they realize that they may be bringing into this world a smaller, skinner type of Lab or a larger, bigger type of Lab.
