Without plants you'd have only primitive life forms ... like the ones that congregate around hot springs deep in the oceans.

There would probably be others, such as anaerobic bacteria like the ones that cause gas-gangrene and lock-jaw.

* OR *

Today's non-oxygen-breathing organisms may only be primitive because they never got a chance to develop.

The simple oxygen-breathing organisms of ancient times developed into modern people and all the animals.

If the non-oxygen-breathing organisms had not been almost wiped out when plants started 'poisoning' their atmosphere, maybe they would have been the ones who developed into 'people' and all the modern animals.

(Except that oxygen based life has more pep, so maybe not!)

What will happen if plants and animals disappear from the earth surface?

If the plants and animals disappear from the Earth's surface, then the ecological balance will be disturbed. Without plants there will be no oxygen available for breathing after some time and everybody will die.

Why is bee the most important animal in the world?

I'm not sure it is the most important, but it pollinates an enormous number of flowering plants. Without pollinators wild flowering plants would die off in a generation. However there are many other pollinators, including birds, man, etc. so not all flowering plants would go extinct without bees.

What if plants never existed?

Plants are the basis of all living things. Animals like humans and cows, as well as bacteria need plants to live. Plants are near the bottom of the food chain, lower ranked animals use plants to obtain their nutrients, and higher ranked organisms use those organisms to obtain nutrients, and so forth. Even those at the top of the food chain (apex-predators) sometimes obtain nutrients directly from plants. Bacteria need to go through nitrogen fixation. Also, plants provide oxygen, which many organism need to live; without it, many species would perish and die at an alarming rate.So basically, Earth would go back to its simplest form, where only the slightest of organisms existed.

Where would fungi and insects fit into the nutrient cycle?

Fungi breaks down larger inorganic matter. As a result, the matter gets recycled back into the earth and can get absorbed by plants and animals.

I found a brown snake with a tinge of green on the end Can you tell me what snake this is?

No exactly no I would have to see the snake first, but it could be possible to be a grass snake No exactly no I would have to see the snake first, but it could be possible to be a grass snake No exactly no I would have to see the snake first, but it could be possible to be a grass snake No exactly no I would have to see the snake first, but it could be possible to be a grass snake No exactly no I would have to see the snake first, but it could be possible to be a grass snake No exactly no I would have to see the snake first, but it could be possible to be a grass snake No exactly no I would have to see the snake first, but it could be possible to be a grass snake

How will the Earth rotate without moon?

The Earth's rotation is not dependent on the Moon; without the Moon, the Earth would still rotate. However, the Moon's gravitation gradually slows down Earth's rotation, so without the Moon, it is possible that Earth would now be rotating faster. The Earth's rotation is not dependent on the Moon; without the Moon, the Earth would still rotate. What would happen to us if there were no plants on earth?

Plants are the only life forms on Earth which are capable of producing fixed carbon and oxygen from carbon dioxide and water using sunlight via the process of photosynthesis. Without plants herbivores would die, without herbivores carnivores and omnivores would die.If there were no plants on earth we would all be dead because plants give oxygen. There would also be no life.

What if there wasn't any plant on earth?

If there were no plants on Earth, there would be no alternative life. This is because of Photosynthesis; the plants breath in the Carbon Dioxide and breath out Oxygen; which we need to live, and would die without.

What do you think would happen without the sun?

Without the sun, Earth would be in darkness except for minimal light from small stars and the moon. Plants would not survive due to lack of sunlight. Without plants animals would not have food and would also die.

If CO2 was not on earth what will earth be like?

If there was no Carbon Dioxide on Earth it would be very different then what it is now. Firstly plants need CO2 for photosynthesis, without CO2 plants could not complete photosynthesis and would die of starvation (photosynthesis is a plants way of making food). Secondly CO2 is a gas that keeps the Earth's temperature at the correct level, without CO2 the Earth would be much colder and therefor unable to support life.

Why water is important substance on earth for plants and animals?

Without water, life on Earth would be impossible. Water provides one of the main ingredients, along with sunlight, for plants when going through the process of photosynthesis. Without water, plants would not be able to provide food for themselves, therefore they would die off, when the plants would die off, animals would loose a main source of food, and in turn many other species would become extinct. Water also provides energy for humans and other animals, and are an important addition to the circulatory system in humans, the digestive system, and much more. Without water, life would not be possible.

Why animal exist?

It makes part of the Life evolution on Earth. As the plants also make part. Don't you think that the Earth without animals and plants would be so boring?

What would happen if plants disappeared from Earth?

If plants disappeared from Earth, the entire ecosystem would collapse. Plants are primary producers, providing energy and nutrients to all other living organisms. Without plants, herbivores would have no food, leading to a cascading effect on the entire food chain. Additionally, the atmosphere would be affected as plants play a crucial role in producing oxygen and regulating carbon dioxide levels.

What would happen if the earth had no plants?

If the Earth had no plants, it would have serious consequences. Plants play a crucial role in producing oxygen, regulating the climate, and providing food and habitats for animals. Without plants, the balance of ecosystems would be disrupted, leading to a decline in biodiversity and potentially causing widespread environmental problems.

Why would all animals die if there were no more photosynthetic organisms on earth?

Yes, because all plants are photosynthetic, and the food chain starts with plants, so everything would die without plants.

Is life possible without plants?

Life as we know it would be extremely challenging without plants. Plants play a crucial role in providing oxygen through photosynthesis, supporting the food chain as a primary food source, and maintaining ecosystems. While some life forms may still survive without plants, it would be significantly limited and compromised.
