This is because they are cold-blooded (except the warm blooded leather backs), and so need the warmth of the water to help them survive. The Olive Ridley is usually found in the Indo-Pacific and Atlantic oceans. In Indian Ocean - Devi, Gahirmatha and Rushikulya beaches in Orissa are known to be the largest nesting sites for the Olive Ridley Turtles.
