... I believe you mean obtain. Lions obtain their food by running it down. The female lions (Called lionesses) usually do the hunting. They prefer to eat wildebeest, warthogs, zebras, buffalo and different types of antelope. In India, lions eat several different species of deer, as well as wild boar. They usually sneak up to a herd of something-or-another, and corner the slow ones as a pack.

they hunt in prides together as a team.. they jump out at a herd a few times but dont actually chase them just to put them on edge. then as the cofusion and hustle seperates a calf from its mother (or a grown deep/moose/antelope) they pounce on it and leave. they usually kill with one bite to the neck or by clamping its mouth and nose shut untill it dies. this is called the kiss of death.
Through hunting........
Lions get their food by hunting and killing other animals. Lions hunt in a pack. They sneak up and ambush their prey.
Lions find their food in a very special way. Your domesticated cat making noseprints on the window is a descendant of the lion. Do you know how cats open their mouths when they smell someting, like food in the kitchen: cheese, chicken, or Spiders on the ceiling?

Lions use scent to catch their prey. Like the cats living in your house, they will open their mouths to "taste" the air. They can scent their prey from at least 1-2 miles away. They will track their prey, keeping low in the grass. Their pelts of yellow-brown or yellow-gold blend in with the savanna grass.

Prey to lions are many animals. Here are a few.

Wildebeests, antelope, zebra, young hippo, young elephant, warthogs and young giraffes.

I hope I helped!

Remember, the little kitty in your house, looking up at you could be cousins to a lion in the wild!

Have a blessed day!
