The Tasmainan tiger was not a tiger at all. The animal was a marsupial also called the Tasmainan wolf. They died out due to pressure from humans who moved into their range and considered them a pest, much like the coyote of North America. Unlike the coyote the tasmainan tiger/wolf could or would not adapted to living with humans and has become extinct. There are still reports of people seeing the T. tiger, but nothing which has been confirmed. The Tasmainan tiger was not a tiger at all. The animal was a marsupial also called the Tasmainan wolf.
