Dogs like all petting from humans. Belly rubs are particularly enjoyable because dogs can't reach their own bellies well with their mouths or paws, so it's satisfying to them to have that area rubbed by someone who can reach it. (That's why they like scratches behind their ears, too.)
As with most animals, cats allowing another organism, be it animal or human touch its body is a big sign of trust. Because the belly is where the vital organs are the most accessible, they are very protective of it. Unless a cat lays near you stretched out with its belly facing you, it probably does not want its belly rubbed and will not change its mind.
Kind of. Alligators do not have diaphragms like humans, therefore, they move their ribs in order to breathe, by putting them on their backs they cannot breathe, so they pass out eventually and if are left like this can die D': Its not nice D: Rubbing their bellies has nothing to do with it.
The reason dogs want there belly's rubbed is because it shows them you love them and you trust and care for them. However if you don't rub your dogs belly they might think other wise like they don't love me or care for me.
Dogs love to be scratched behind their ears and have their tummys rubbed, they are very cute! they like to be scratched on their backs aswell, but not as much as the top ones!!They love to be rubbed under the chin it makes then feel like a proud dog but only if their good
Cats have scent glands under their chin that release pheromones when they are rubbed. This helps them mark their territory and feel more secure in their environment. Additionally, the chin area is a sensitive spot for many cats and they enjoy the sensation of being petted there.
Yes, they love it. Well at least my dogs do.
that sounds like a VERY VERY VERY bad idea
Often, dogs like similar things. They really like it when you scratch them behind their ears and rub their bellies. Mostly, it is the smaller dogs which like to be rubbed in the bellies. Something else they like very much is when you adore them, pay attention to them, and treat them well. At the end of the day, a dog would have a better life if you payed attention to them and underfed them than if you properly fed them and neglected them.

Dogs sleep in circles so they can keep them selves warm. Its not like they knew blankets existed! Anyways its not like they can sleep on their backs or bellies! or can they? No they can't.
In my opinion, all dogs like their belly rubbed. I have no idea why, but they love it.
I don't know of any dog that doesn't like to have its belly rubbed. Mine loved it. It must feel good. they do but get restless quick unless tired
if yours does, that's just weird

Having his/her belly rubbed, going on walks, playing fetch (you can use a branch is you want).
Maybe when they are married but outside of the marriage, no. And I dont think that many girls like guys "bellies".
