Some people feel compelled to dress up their pooche like little kids, notice, however that most people who dress up their dog every day usally have no children! Most people will put a Santa Clause outfit on their dog on Christmas or a bunny on Easter, but that's pretty normal. The most common reason people dress up their dog is not because it looks "cute" or "adorable" but they feel the need to care for somthing and dress it up like the little child they don't have.
I completely disagree with the previous answer to this querie. As an owner of a miniture daschund, I know that in some cases, like mine for example, it is vital to clothe your small dog when necessary. Clothing little dogs with short hair protects them from either the cold or the hot weather, the only time it is unacceptable to dress your dog is if you are using clothing not specifically made for a dog e.g. using teddy bear or dolly clothes. THAT IS WRONG AS IT IS UNCOMFORTABLE FOR THE DOG.
Dogs generally don't like cats. But people love cats more than dogs. --this is a comment-- i think the dogs are jealous I dooooooo!! :P *jumps up and down and waves both hands at people*
Dogs can help people in various ways, including providing companionship, emotional support, and assistance with tasks such as guide dogs for the visually impaired, therapy dogs for emotional support, and search and rescue dogs in emergencies. Dogs can also help improve mental and physical health through activities like exercising, reducing stress, and providing a sense of purpose.

Because dogs are meant to be dogs! They want to run around and be crazy, not play dress up! Yes, even the fru-fru ones, like a toy Poodle or Yorkie. There's nothing wrong with putting a little bow in a dog's fur to keep it out of its eyes, or a little sweater to keep it warm in the winter time, but the whole sparkly tutu princess outfit with color coordinated booties? Umm, no!! Let your dog be a dog, and if you want something to dress up, buy a doll.
If you are going to see a show, some people like to dress up, but some people dress casual. Its up to you really. (: Rosalie
It is generally better to only dress up dogs occasionally, as they have natural fur coats that regulate their body temperature. Wearing clothes all the time can restrict their movement and cause discomfort.

Yes, traditionally people dress up as the characters of the story in the Torah (Hamen, Esther, etc) but it has become almost the Jewish equivalent of Halloween.
