The biggest impression you can make on your guinea pig I would think for sure would be when they are young. After that you can only do so much. But make sure that you try to never startle your guinea pig (running by it's cage or grabbing it suddenly etc.) and you can give him/her treats from your hand to help him/her understand that your not going to hurt them. Make sure that you take them out often and when you are picking them up try to stroke them first and not pick them up all of a sudden.
if you cant pull it out then try to get your pig to drink if all fails take your pig to the vet immediatly.
For the first day you get your guinea pig you should leave him alone for 1 - 3 days. When those 3 days are up you start talking gently to him so he can get use to you even if it includes talking to your self ( and still you do not pick up your piggy). When all of these days are up then the time is right to start picking up him or her,but you still have to do everything since the first day.Every time you pick him up make sure that you give him a couple of treats. And last of all make sure he see's you refilling his water or food so he realizes that you are a caregiver.
Actually rabbits an guinea pigs are fine together. But maybe the female guinea pig is felling lonely being the only kind in the cage. Or maybe its because the rabbit just doesn't like the guinea pig. If it's possible you can try getting another female guinea pig or separating the the guinea pig and rabbits.
All guinea pigs get nervous if put in a threatening situation. if your pig seems nervous in front of you you might try playing with them more your piggy will warm up to you sooner or later
I don't have a guinea pig but i have information on them: Guinea pigs usually make sounds wen they are happy, scared, need some attention, and hungry. They need a lot of attention .Try using these answers for your guinea pig. Thanks :)
Absolutely NOT it will hurt your guinea pig a lot.Dont try it!!!!!
Guinea pigs are known to be very shy, so you have to prove to the guinea pig that you are gentle by simply approaching your guinea pig slowly and calmly and then eventually pet or pick him/her up. You can also find ways to tame your guinea pig, either with food or a treat. Try to do anything to make it feel safe. You can simply be dealing with a guinea pig that is nervous, or you are dealing with something that is very common and normal for your guinea pig.
I try to clean my guinea pig's cage around once a week or when it looks dirty.
try being more gentle with them they can be fragile animals sometimes
yes its good it means they are content and relaxed , you make get mistaken for teeth chattering and purring , teeth chattering is normally to warn off another guinea pig but one of mine does it to me too sometimes so be careful you can pick them up and stuff but just try to relax the guinea pig if they teeth chatter
Well, you cant prevent a still born guinea pig. But you can try to revive the guinea pig once it is born.
Somewhere the guinea pig can sort of hide. Try to use a piece of curved wood bought at pet stores for them.
try a pet store
Rabbits/Bunnies do NOT make good cage mates for Guinea Pigs. The Guinea Pig needs another of its own kind to thrive. Even if it does have another Guinea Pig partner, the Rabbit/Bunny may try to kill, hurt, or eat them. I hope this answers your question!
Yes, you should. The rabbit might try to harm the baby guinea pig or try to take it in as it's own. ---- YES! They should not be housed together even if a guinea pig is not pregnant! They can injure each other.
Guinea pigs squeal for many reasons, they squeal because they are happy and saying welcome or hi or trying other things to comunicate, but sometimes they squeal because they need attention from there owners, try to figure out what he wants or saying and you will get along better, simple.
