Lab are shedding dogs, they are going to shed a lot. To prevent this, brush them daily. Or get one of those hair vacuums and vacuum the hair off.
Yes. They do shed hair but if your get a short haired chiuaua than if would be better if you wanted to minimize hair being all over everything but the short haired chiuaua's are better because they don't shed that much hair at all.

YES! newfoundlands do shed they shed most in the summer because they have to get rid of all the fur they have so they can stay cooler. and because they have so much hair they lose a LOT

Nope. Instead of fur, they have hair. When someone thinks of hair they usually think of the hair on people. But the definition hair is that it just keeps on growing and never stops or sheds while fur sheds and stops at a certain point.
