Probably the same reason people stretch when the wake up: their muscles are stiff from not moving for a period of time.
Basically, the answer above is correct. When a dog wakes up, the kind of stretching it does is called "pandiculation". By lengthening it's body after waking up (where the dog may have been curled up) the brain resets muscles that were contracted, allowing full range of movements.
Really? You're REALLY asking that on here? We all know it's a watchdog!
Whan you yawn and stretch at the same time
it's perfectly fine, my 11 year old dog with arthritis runs around all the time!
this is a dog that is all white
Not all the time, because depending on the type of dog depends on the colors of the dog.
Dogs may stretch when you stretch because they are mirroring your behavior or because they are preparing their muscles for movement. It could also be a sign of bonding and social connection between you and your dog.
It is impossible cause Jake is a Magical Dog We are normal People
Yes, all the time. You want to keep your dog healthy all the time.

No I kiss my dog all the time
For one if you are talking to a dog and they stretch it simply just means they think you are playing and when they bow like that that means theyre being playful. But they might also do this if you are scolding them they do it for mercy and might even roll on theyre back. Now keep in mind that all dogs are diffrent and might not all stretch when you talk to them. Kathy
What's to fight? If the law requires a dog be on a leash, the time of day doesn't matter. i have always follow the regulations. There is no dog park nor dog run in near by the playground. so where can my dog run to stretch her legs. When i used to live in Manhattan i never got fine. i always curb my dog and walked her in park where she can run before 9 am. what i don't understand is that i picked a time when absolutely no one is outside. it would be fair if there is a place for my poodle to run and stretch. i would gladly pay the ticket.
They all do from time to time.
A dog stretches by going into the yoga position "the downward dog".
