Fire is a chemical reaction. It is not made of up cells, nor does it reproduce, or move consciously, or use energy. It isn't matter; it is energy. Only members of the five kingdoms are considered alive (ie, animals, plants, fungi, and bacteria)

Because fire isn't made up of living cells. Living organisms require water in order to be considered living because their cells use that water to form those cells. Water is the opposite force/element of fire. In other words, fire is weakened and even put out by water, which is necessary for life.
