I doubt that it is because the goldfish is pregnant, but that's a possibility.
However, it's usually because of the fish food we feed our goldfish that is sold at petstores. The pellets and flakes are both dry food, yes? And when they go into the goldfish's stomach, they kind of swell up, because when dry foods go into water they usually swell up. So it's probably because the dry food the goldfish ate swelled up in it's stomach.
