There are several things that could be causing your hamster to have eye mucus. It could be from the bedding, a blocked tear duct, or it could just be because of the hamsters age; it is very common in older hamsters.
a hamsters eye usually goes crusty because its eye bogeys like we sometimes get crusty eyes in the morning anyway just bath its eye with warm water and it should be okay :) some hamsters eys have less crust thoug hope this helped :) xx
From iCowMoo, Your Hamster could have peed on itself or have crusty eye I am sorry I am not sure I just told you all I could.
Your pet maybe just cut it's eye while grooming its self
The closed eye should be wiped with a small piece of cotton wool soaked in luke warm water
It might have an eye infection but if its the first time probally not. If this happens several times go to the vets. Just bathe the eye by using kitchen roll and luke warm water and softly dab at the eye. Then soon after it should return to normal! p.s. This is what i do to mine and it works! :)
Most hamsters eat rice. They eat it readily meaning they will eat a lot very fast. Keep a careful eye on them, they might start to choke so please be careful. Hope this helps!!!

No. If a hamsters eye is stuck shut, it is more likely the result of an infection or injury.
take it to the vets to see if they can fix it
