A newborn or very young animal that is not able to care for itself without assistance from its parent or a caregiver.
Quokkas are marsupials, so they give birth to underdeveloped young that crawl into their mother's pouch. The baby quokka stays in the pouch for several months nursing and developing until it is ready to venture out on its own. The mother provides milk and care for the baby until it is old enough to survive independently.
Marsupials are a classification of mammals. They bear live young which crawl into the mother's pouch, latch onto a teat, and stay there for several months whilst they continue their development.
The young of marsupials are born under-developed and complete their development in their mother's pouch.
Some babies go straight to walking and skip crawling all together, but most babies crawl for a while before walking while holding onto something.
Are you certain you should? Most animal mothers kill or eat their young because there is something wrong with them (the young).
if you are the animal that is the strongest (dominant) and get to have babies what should they look like ?
a mammal is something that has babies directly and that has hair and feeds its young
I feel like the answer is Sea horses. I've heard that they have a lot of babies in their pouches...........
I have seen two seagulls carry one of their young ones and leaving it on the top of a dormer window. I was amazed!
Some don't even care for the babies. They abandon them. But others care for them like any other animal.
