Yes sometimes they do and sometimes they will just let it heal as best as it can either way it should be fine.
If your hamster has a broken leg, it's best to consult with a veterinarian to discuss treatment options. In some cases, the leg can be splinted or surgically repaired. The decision to put the hamster to sleep should be based on the advice of the vet and the hamster's overall quality of life.
It's important to seek immediate veterinary care for your hamster. A broken leg is a serious injury and requires professional treatment to ensure proper healing and prevent complications. In the meantime, you can gently place your hamster in a safe, comfortable environment to minimize movement and further injury.
If your hamster is dragging both her feet, it is essential to take her to a vet immediately. This behavior could indicate severe pain or complications from the broken leg that require urgent attention and treatment. Delaying medical care can worsen the situation for your hamster.
If your hamster is limping on its right hind leg, it could be due to a sprain, fracture, or other injury. It's important to consult a veterinarian experienced in handling small animals to properly diagnose and treat the issue. Avoid handling the hamster too much and provide a quiet, comfortable environment for rest and recovery.
Your hamster will probably not walk on that leg, perhaps dragging it. Also, I had a hamster that broke her ankle, and she chewed off her foot. I brought her to the vet, and they said that they could try different types of surgeries, but they can't use any anesthesia. I decided that putting her to sleep was the best choice for her, because the surgeries sounded very painful. :( Good luck, and I hope your hamster's leg isn't broken.
If his leg is broken it is kindest to take him to the vet and have him put down. A broken leg can't normally be fixed in a hamster, and he will eventually die in pain.and give it food.
TAKE HIM/HER TO THE VET!!!! Your hamster could have a broken leg or damaged her/his back.

How to find out if it has a broke legI have had hamsters all my life golden and dwarf. Most times if a hamster has a broken leg. The leg will just hang there and move very freely and they will drag that leg along when they walk. It would be swollen a little i am sure. But also if it was bitten by another hamster then it would be swollen and you would see some kind of teeth marks or blood. You can't really speed up the recovery that i know of a vet would know more hope this helped some

I'm not going to lie, but I think that there is no hope because my hamster paralyzed it's leg, and It died.
Very simple .........................you can't
can you put vinegar on a hamster's broken leg
You can, but it's not going to help the hamster in any way, broken bones are really traumatic and often get infected, so if you really care for your hamster you should take it to the vet.
If your hamster has a broken leg, it needs treatment from the vet. See the related question. If you have already had the vet treat your hamster, then it is important to keep the hamster quiet while the leg heals. She is probably not bored, but tired, as healing takes a lot of energy, especially early on.You can vary your hamsters food a little, and give it your company: talk to it and pat it gently.
