From the 1st Sunday of April to the last Sunday of September, there is no time difference between Tonga and Samoa.

From the last Sunday of September to the 1st Sunday of April, Samoa is on Daylight Saving Time, so when flying from Tonga to Samoa you would adjust your watch forward one hour, and when flying from Samoa to Tonga you would adjust your watch backward one hour.

Are Australia and Tonga on the same time zone?

Not according to my globe. No, the time in Tonga is UTC + 13 hours, which is 3 hours ahead of Australian Eastern Standard Time and 2 hours ahead of Eastern Summer Time. Places that always have the same time as Tonga are the Phoenix Islands of Kiribati, Samoa and Tokelau.

Did Samoa rule Tonga?

Although it is not certain of the era or time, Tongans have ruled Samoa at one point. Before Tonga was established as the monarchy "The Kingdom of Tonga," or what is now a Constitutional Monarchy, with a prime minister- it was similar to the colonies that comprised the first U.S. (Vava'u, Ha'apai, Tongatapu and etc. had their own ruler.) It is not known which Tongan dynasty it was that ruled. To identify this is very important because until the current reigning dynasty (Tupou 1), Tonga was not The Kingdom of Tonga. It was still consisted of colonies. Individual Tongans and individual Samoans have had a lot of discontent towards each other because of the past where Tonga once ruled Samoa, and the claims that Samoans were former slaves of Tonga. There has been much heated competition, in the modern age, involving Tonga and Samoa in Rugby. One of the best Rugby players of all time is Jonah Lomu, of Tongan descent. But there has not been much representation of Tonga since then. Samoa, on the other hand, has played very well in 2010, winning the Sevens Cup in Las Vegas and moved on to take the Japan cup as well. Tongans and Samoans are very beautiful people and it is a shame that there is ethnic rivalry. But it is wonderful to know that there are Tongans and Samoans who have enough respect for each other and themselves to get along with one another.

What country is Tonga and Samoa in?

This is a stupid divisive question (or at best, a lazy one). But to answer it, both groups of islands are polynesian, beautiful and relatively unspoilt. Both countries are fiercely patriotic and extremely religious. Both take about the same time to get to from most destinations. Both will welcome visitors with open arms and old fashioned hospitality and service. So toss a coin or pick a number and ENJOY. Oh, and whatever you do, do NOT walk through a village in either country during evening prayers. The staffs the men hold - the men who are standing along the side of the road at set intervals - those staffs are NOT decorative. Don't say you weren't warned... HAHAHA! I could NOT have said that any better. Anywho, it would actually depend on what you're looking for and what you like. Both are similar yet different. This is a stupid question.

Why did Tonga colonized Samoa?

I'm Tongan and proud of my heritage and i must say when i was growing up my father influenced me in many aspects especially in telling me the history of Tonga. He's not a historian or a doctor in anthropology but i have to say that the knowledge he bestowed on me is the same tradition his father bestowed on him.... another thing i might add is that it is rude and embarrising for a Tongan to say to a Samoan we onced ruled you! rather i take what my father taught me humbly and with care....my father always told me that the reasons of our past will never be trufuly known until judgment day. According to oral tradition's of my father The Kingdom of Tonga around 950AD was strong, unified and very ambitious.. by that time Tonga first expanded her branches to neighbouring Rotuma.. Uvea.. Tonga had alot of fearsome warriors who were also skilled seafarers...They would sail in a double hull conoes called "kalia" that could host 100men often travelling 10 kalias at a time... my dad would say that Tongan Warriors first entered the south of savaii in a place that the Tongan warriors landed there first place of arrival thanking there heathen god "maui" for safe passage and for the blood of their about to be slaughtered enemies."Tama'tau" ac place which still exsists today in the southern part of savaii Samoa meaning in Tongan "men of war" the samoans call it "sama'tau" because the whole entire village and its warriors were slaughtered.. From there on as Samoa were not united and were a seperatists tribe nation Tonga were able to divide and conquer most parts of Samoa.... Tonga had a annual "Inasi" tribute to the King where islands from every part of the pacific and melanisia would yield there best crops to the king... Captain Cook in his visit in 1774 to Tonga noted down a festival in which he saw dark skinned and aisan like people in Tonga.... Samoa after 200-300 years had enough and where the Mailetoa family ousted Tonga rule from Samoa...The tongan king almost die, so he fear for his life and retreat, while retreating he called out "Malie toa ua malie tau, I will return to Samoan as a visitor, but never again for war"...so really the samoans could have invaded tonga but they werent selfish or greedy like the tongans....
