LOOK ON THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE. THERE IS A SWITCH SCREWED INTO IT. THERE IS A PRESSURE VALVE ON THE LINE THAT KEEPS ALL OF YOUR REFRIGERANT FROM LEAKING OUT. I REPLACED MINE WITH ONE OUT OF A JUNKYARD OFF OF A CIRRUS..COST $2 DEALER QUOTED ME $300. I ALSO REPLACED THE PIGTAIL OFF OF THE WIRING HARNESS. CONNECTOR ENDED UP BEING MY PROBLEM. TOTAL TIME INVOLVED 10 MIN. TOOLS NEEDED---SMALL CRESCENT WRENCH WIRE STRIPPERS AND WIRE CONNECTORS.
compressor contactor is bad. probably stuck in the closed position.
With an auto air conditioner, the main power consumption is by the compressor. The compressor is driven mechanically by the engine, not the battery. Electrical power is used for controls, and to power the blower fan.
Blown fuse Loss of freon Does compressor run? Does blower motor work?
That should not be required. It sounds to me like something was left unplugged.
No, the compressor only draws out the heat from air. The blower motor either blows warm air or cold air.
fuse #5 on the relay panel on firewall left and above blower motor.
If you are not getting any cool air, the compressor may need recharging or replacing. You will need to call a repairman.
blower motor resistor needs to be replaced
your air conditioner does not have a fan. you have a cooling fan, a blower motor for the passenger compartment, and a compressor clutch. i don't know which one your talking about. but if it is the electric fan for the cooling system behind the radiator then there is either an overheating issues, or a short causing the fan actuate. if it is a blower motor for the air vents. more than likely the blower motor or resistor is going bad. if it is the compressor clutch "fast cycling" then you are low on refrigerant and probably on your way to a really expensive repair. The blower resistor is probably bad, due to a failing blower motor that is drawing too many amps.
There is no difference. A blower is just a term used for a supercharger. A compressor is any machine that compresses a gas for many different purposes. A supercharger in its many forms is a type of compressor
The compressor working to remove the heat from the air, but the blades could be dirty if the unit is old which throws off the balance of the blades and could cause this.
