Get the used engine! The engine is an "interferance type", damage to valve train when the belt brakes.
The Leganza fuel filter is located behind the egine on the panel wall.Make sure you depressure it before removing.
If somebody knows the answer, please let it know. This morning i tried to remove the speakers in the back and asked myself why, why, why in godsname it is constructed this way. It looks like i have also remove the breakinglight before i can remove the complete plate (i hope!!!) Very strange and sick way to design it this way.
ON a 1999 Daewoo Leganza the thermostat is located on the upper radiatior hose. Unlike most cars this car has a thermostat that is integrated into the housing. You must purchase the housing with the thermostat built in. It is removed by removing the 2 female torx screws that hold the unit in place. The thermostat is expensive. Some dealers or auto parts want an avg of 125 for that thermostat so please make sure that is the problem before you purchase it. You can sometimes get lucky and find someone posting the unit on e bay. Best luck I have had for any parts for a daewoo is a location in Puerto Rico. The site for this is http://daewooautopartspr.com/ Call them. I got a thermostat for $60 among many other parts. O'Reilly Auto has them for 36.99. They are online.
your battery could still be buggered even on a jump start, try bump starting/tow starting to rule out starter motor problems first before forking out on a battery
Remove the the plastic cover on the valve cover, next remove the coil,or spark plug boot. Then you have access to the spark plugs. Make sure you gap your spark plugs, before you install them. If your not sure, it's wise to do them one at a time. After the replacement, do everything in reverse order.
I started by removing the camshaft cover, then I realized the many other parts have to be removed before being able to succesfuly replace the sensor.... I also would like to know the procedure. Thanks
i heard only till 90,000 to 110,000 miles at the most
All Daewoo Engines are interference fit Engines. Which means that if the timing belt rips while the engine is running the pistons will hit and bend the valves and you will have to get new valves and possibly a new cylinder head. Worst case scenario you will also have to get a new engine block if for some reason chunks or pieces of valve, piston or cylinder head damaged the cylinder bore and cracked the block while things were moving around. Daewoo Timing belts are recommended to be replaced at 60,000 miles but it is best to replace them before 60k as some people have had their timing belts break on them as soon as 61,000 miles.
yes my 2004 auto SX does, it has just 38000 miles on the clock. The sticking valves symptoms started at 29000 miles. I get a multiple missfire and it affects the auto transmission. I read the Valves will cosy £800 to replace, I will not bother, I will trade it in before that!
You will need to replace this filter every 4 months.
Replace it every 50,000 miles.
When you set to do this on your own, it is critical that you get it right from the beginning, or you risk destroying your engine. The most important thing is to ensure that all the marks on the gears align correctly with the corresponding marks on the timing belt. Wind the engine over by hand to ensure the marks on both sides align properly, before you replace the covers.
