Clearly no clear answer to this question. It depends on the group of animal, sometimes even differs on population or individual level.

There are animals who just minimize temperature loss by reducing blood flow in non-vital organs, e.g. humans do so. (Also, they might shiver, get goose pimples etc.)

Some are changing behaviour, e.g. starting to migrate, eventually triggered by the physiological stimulus of the temperature.

There are ones who try to hibernate, first changing behaviour and then reducing blood flow even more and changing a lot of their physiology.

Remember: the reaction might differ even on individual level as you can easily see in birds. Blackbirds used to be migrating birds. Now, a huge part of the populations are sedentary birds.

What does 20-25 degrees C below ambient temperature mean as in a mini cooler does it mean below the room temp?

Yes, or at whatever temperature the cooler is stored: inside hot car during summer, ect.

How low does the temperature have to be for snow?

Snow is made from Ice crystals. Thus for snow to form and precipitate, the ambient / air temperature must be below 0 degrees Centigrade.

Do igloos melt in the Arctic summer?

No becuz the are built in below freezing temperatures and are solid ice

Do dead bodies get cold?

That depends on the ambient temperature. A corpse will take on the temperature of the environment. If it's in a house that is 70 degrees, the corpse will cool to 70 degrees. If it's outside at 40 below, it will cool to 40 below.

Why do rivers and lakes do not freeze in winters?

Lakes, and to a lesser degree, rivers, freeze as the ambient temperature reduces below Zero. This never happens "suddenly" and it takes time for the water to assume the surrounding temperature.

When new basalt forms along ocean ridges it becomes magnetized how?

While it is molten it is above the Curie temperature and is not magnetic, as it cools below this temperature the ambient magnetic field becomes "frozen" into the basalt.

What should the temperature gauge on new petrol 206 read under normal travelling conditions?

In my opnion it should be just below 80 depending on what you are doing and ambient temperature, but probably 80-95 degrees

Is my Home Heat Pump thermostat working?

A person can tell if their home heat pump thermostat is working by setting the temperature a few degrees above or below ambient to see if it kicks on. A thermometer can be used to verify the temperature.
